Our family eats meat, but our daughter is vegan. I made some meat dishes for the week and put them in the fridge next to our daughter’s vegan meals. I used containers, and everything was sealed well. Nothing leaked or gave off a strong smell in the fridge.
The next morning, I opened the fridge and saw that all of our meat dishes were gone. I asked our daughter since all of her meals were still there. She said she had thrown our meals away because her vegan food “started smelling like meat.”
I was furious because the entire meal prep for the week was ruined. Besides, it cost a lot of money, and I don’t like the idea of wasting food. I decided to teach her a lesson. I asked her to cook us meat dishes and told her I wouldn’t cook any more vegan food for her until she did so. She cried while cooking, and at some point, I thought I was being too hard on her. Was I right?
